Dr. Kara Cain joined Bluegrass Hearing Clinic in May 2023 after earning her Doctor of Audiology degree from Ball State University and completing her externship with Bluegrass Hearing Clinic. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Cain has special interests in cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing devices, and tinnitus management. Her doctoral research evaluated nurses’ and nursing students’ knowledge of pediatric hearing health to help lay the foundation for a novel continuing education program covering audiological topics for nurses.
Dr. Cain resides in Independence, KY with her husband and dog. Outside of the clinic she enjoys reading, cooking and cheering on Cincinnati sports teams.
Dr. Cain currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Academy of Audiology. She sees patients at the Fort Mitchell and Mt. Sterling offices.
